This is a big announcement from KAPOW! British writer/Actor/comedian/genius Mark Gatiss will be at KAPOW! for a sit down with 750 of his closest friends!
Kapow! will be hosting ‘An Audience with Mark Gatiss’ on the afternoon of Saturday 9th April. The award-winning and critically-acclaimed author, actor and playwright will be chatting about his life, career and future plans to an audience of 750.
Visitors to Kapow!, which is taking place at the Business Design Centre in London on 9th & 10th April 2011, will be amongst the first in the world to get an exclusive look at upcoming comics, movie blockbusters, hit TV shows and games from the biggest publishers and studios in the world. With panels and announcements from A-list names throughout the weekend Kapow! is one event not to miss in 2011. Gatiss is one quarter of the award-winning comedy team The League of Gentlemen, and heavily involved with the enormously popular revival of the Doctor Who TV series for the BBC, writing several fan-favourite stories and even starring in one episode. With Steven Moffat, he co-created last Autumn’s hit Sherlock, appearing as Mycroft Holmes, and also starred as Robert Louis Stevenson in Jekyll, another huge BBC One serial.
In 2008 he appeared in Clone as Colonel Black. He also made a guest appearance in Pemberton and Shearsmith’s comedy series Psychoville. In 2010 he portrayed Malcolm MacLaren in the BBC drama Worried About The Boy which focused on the life and career of Boy George. He adapted HG Wells’ The First Men In the Moon as a 2010 television film of the same name for the BBC, also playing Professor Cavor as well as making a three-part BBC documentary series entitled A History of Horror, a personal exploration of the history of horror cinema.
Mark is currently playing the role of Bernard in Alan Ayckbourn’s ‘Season’s Greetings’ at the Royal National Theatre in London alongside Catherine Tate.
Other events at Kapow include Jonathan Ross’ Comic Fans vs. Comic Pros Game Show and two Guinness World Record attempts in addition to a scheduled packed with film, TV and comic panels. The full timetable of panels and events running at Kapow! will be published at the end of March.
