Assassin’s Creed 3 Announced For October

Posted by ChosenWarrior85 on February 16, 2012

The next “proper” sequel in the Assassin’s Creed franchise is on target for a October release date.

Set in 2012, AC3 will focus primarily on Desmond and the remaining assassins, as they race against time to stop a global catastrophe. Industry rumours and clues divulged in Brotherhood and Revelations strongly hint at a American Revolution setting, but Ubisoft is yet to confirm or deny this. Former protagonists Altair and Ezio Auditore are not expected to appear in AC3 due to Revelations wrapping up both characters’ storylines.

According to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, AC3 has been three years in the making. He also shared his thoughts on the game:

“Assassin’s Creed 3 is the true next generation of both the Assassin’s Creed brand and interactive entertainment/storytelling in general. We will push the title a lot because it’s a fantastic product that the team has been working for three years. What we have seen is just fabulous.”

Ubisoft recently revealed that 7 million copies of Revelations had been sold to date and that the developer/publisher expects AC3 to defy all past sales records.
