Countdown to Gadget Show Live: Top 20 Gadgets – TOP TABLETS AND ULTRABOOK

The Gadget Show Live is drawing ever closer and as always Geek Syndicate is looking forward to seeing what gadgets will be showcased at the event and what will be happening. This time Geek Syndicate looks at the first in a series of the Top 20 gadgets for 2012 as voted by the Gadget Show presenters. Next set of gadgets is TOP TABLETS AND ULTRABOOK
In advance of the UK’s leading consumer electronics show, the team behind The Gadget Show Live (taking place at Birmingham’s NEC from 11 to 15 April) has revealed its Top 20 gadgets for 2012 – 20 of the best tech products visitors can see, try and buy at this year’s show. The top 20 will be featured in daily sessions within The HUB Theatre, presented by Stuff TV’s Lucy Hedges and Radio One’s Aled Haydn Jones.
The top 20 for 2012 includes the latest in gaming, home and smart technology from the biggest and best in the industry, including Apple, Sony, Samsung, LG and Canon. Other top 20 entries include the latest in personal transportation devices from Ozo, premium audio tech from 50 Cent and Bowers and Wilkins, plus camera technology from Canon.
Tablets remain the must have top desirable kit in 2012 and the show’s top tablets include the new Apple iPad which is bigger, faster and has a better (‘retina’) display, and will be available in the UK from 16 March. Other tablets in the top 20 include the Nvidia Tegra 3 powered Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, one of the slimmest and best Android tablets available.
Rapidly catching up with the popularity of tablets are the latest wave of Ultrabooks, the best in our top 20 include the new Dell XPS 13, considered a strong competitor to the Macbook Air as well as the Acer Aspire S3 the world’s new thinnest and incredibly powerful ultrabook, which also launched at CES this year. They are supported by the Samsung Series 5 ultrabook, which is an incredibly powerful machine in a sophisticated light-weight design.

*Under 5s are welcome to join their parents at the Live Shows in the Super Theatre. However, it is advised that as the Live Show will contain loud noises and pyrotechnics it may not be suitable for smaller children. Smaller children are welcome to share their parents’ seat at no extra charge, however those wanting to purchase an individual seat can purchase a ticket for £9.99
Tickets are unlikely be available to purchase on the door.
Opening hours are 9am to 6pm each day. The Super Theatre live performances will take place daily at 10.45am, 1.45pm and 4.30pm.
