More Renewals for Your Fave Shows: Once Upon a Time, Supernatural and More

Posted by Sharlene Mousfar on May 11, 2012

It’s the most nerve-wracking time of year for fans: TV renewal season. For many of us who’ve seen the fates of shows like Roswell, Chuck, Firefly, SGU and Caprica, you know that any day now you could be rejoicing in the fact that your favorite show is returning or weeping in your Cheerios that it’s been cancelled.

That being said, early renewals (and cancellations) are rolling in and will be until end the of May but we’ll focus on the positive for now. Hit the jump to see if your favorite’s coming back!

  • Game of Thrones: HBO boss Michael Lombardo said: “We are thrilled by all the viewer and media support we’ve received for the series, and can’t wait to see what Dan and David have in store for next season.”
  • Once Upon a TimeOnce co-creator Adam Horowitz said via Twitter, “It’s official — #OnceUponaTime has been picked up for Season 2. Thank you all so much for watching, we’re beyond thrilled to continue on!”
  • Castle: Series star confirmed the Season 5 news via Twitter
  • Fringe: Fox President Kevin Reilly said in a statement Thursday that “Bringing it back for a final 13 allows us to provide the climactic conclusion that its passionate and loyal fans deserve. The amazing work the producers, writers and the incredibly talented cast and crew have delivered the last four seasons has literally been out of this world. Although the end is bittersweet, it’s going to be a very exciting final chapter.”
  • Community: Renewed for a final 13-episode season.
  • Grimm: Bringing great ratings to a typically dead night (Fridays), NBC renewed this newcomer for a second season.
  • Supernatural: Showrunner Sera Gamble is stepping down but former co-producer Jeremy Carver will be coming on board instead. The fate of Misha Collins’ return is up in the air.
  • The Vampire Diaries: Tonight was the season 3 finale and the show will head into its fourth later this year.

What do you think of the returning show so far? Surprised? What shows do you want to return in the Fall?
