Marvel’s The Avengers May Return to Cinemas with a Director’s Cut

Posted by sniktbubs on June 14, 2012

The third-highest grossing film of all time, Marvel’s The Avengers may return in August with a three-hour director’s cut!

Yes, Joss Whedon has much more to show his fans with 35 minutes of added content, which was originally cut from the first theatrical release.

Whilst this is currently a rumour, it’s a very plausible one, as it could be that Disney and Marvel are aiming for the number one spot in the box office.

This added footage might extend on Captain America’s adjustment to the modern day, perhaps focusing on Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers love from the Second World War.

Along with that, hopefully we’ll receive just a bit more smashing from the film’s most entertaining brute, the Hulk.

What with many cinemagoers having seen the film multiple times already, perhaps this is a wise move on Marvel’s part as fans would be eager to catch those extra minutes on the big screen.

The Avengers has not yet been released in Japan, and surely that will also provide a boost towards its already incredible box-office success.  So along with it’s imminent release there, and the rumoured director’s cut, maybe we’ll just see The Avengers reach that  2 billion mark.

So, if The Avengers was released yet again with all of that luscious content, would you watch it again?

I know I’d go back and see it again. I can’t wait for the DVDs so this would help

Absolutely! I’ve been meaning to go back for a second helping anyway, so a director’s cut would be the perfect excuse.
