‘Rex Mundi’ Gets an Omnibus Re-release and New Tale
Posted by deanjsimons on June 16, 2012
Set in a 1933 Paris that is similar but different to our world, where feudalism still holds sway in Europe, the Catholic Church remains a political and spiritual powerhouse, and sorcerers and secret societies actually exist, Dr. Julien Saunière is thrown into a whole heap of mystery that involves the Catholic Church and that ever elusive object the Holy Grail.
Never read it? Bite your tongues and slap yourselves silly fellow geeks as you have been missing out.
But fear not as Dark Horse Comics has anticipated this gap between market and reader of that also somewhat elusive object – AWESOME – and have decided to give us Arvid Nelson’s Rex Mundi epic across two mouth-watering omnibuses. The first volume, which will collect the first three volumes of original trade paperback releases plus the complete Brother Matthew short story, will hit stores on 5th September 2012.
As for you sly Geeks that have already read Rex Mundi, Arvid Nelson and Dark Horse will be bringing more of the critically acclaimed series in Eisner-nominated Dark Horse Presents #15 on 22nd August 2012. (Can I get an “amen”?)
Series writer and co-creator Arvid Nelson said, “I’m thrilled Dark Horse is making Rex Mundi available in an omnibus format—it’s the way it was always meant to be read!” He added, “The story in Dark Horse Presents is the perfect introduction for new readers, and I think old-timers will get a kick out of it, too. We open things up with the Holy Inquisition in Paris, the day before the main story line begins.”
So just for your diaries that’s Dark Horse Presents #15 on 22nd August 2012, and Rex Mundi Omnibus Volume 1 is on 5th September 2012. Get ready for Awesome.
