Sky to Air Elementary in the UK

Posted by littlewitchuk on July 4, 2012

Sky seems to be snapping up a lot of new US shows: Arrow, The Following and now Elementary. The Sherlock Holmes remake which as raised a few eyebrows.

Elementary is set in modern day New York with Jonny Lee Miller playing Holmes, an ex-pat Brit with a history of drug abuse. Not so far from the original text so far. What makes this version different from the award winning BBC version is the casting of Lucy Liu as Dr Watson and the promise of “romantic complications”.

Sky is due to air Elementary on Sky Living in the autumn. I have to say I’m surprised that it isn’t being aired on Sky’s exclusive Sky Atlantic channel as it has done with Game of Thrones and Smash.

I look forward to seeing how the Americans adapt the Sherlock mythology but I have to say I have no interest in any “romantic complications”. I watch Castle for that.
