London Comic Con Invites Vamps For Morganville World Premiere

Coming to Wil Wheaton and Felicia Day’s Geek & Sundry network in late October, the new web series, Morganville will be making it’s world premiere at MCM London Comic Con from 24th-26th October.  Based on The Morganville Vampires series of novels written by Rachel Caine, the series tells the story of Claire, played by Lindsay Seidel, in the vampire haunted city of Morganville, Texas.  Amber Benson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) plays lead vampire Amelie and Jordan Tanner Farris plays Shane, a hotheaded Morganville native with a hatred of vampires. The series author Rachel Caine will introduce the cast Amber Benson, Lindsay Seidel, Jordan Tanner Farris and a surprise special guest as well as premiere the first two episodes of the series. The trailer for the series aired during San Diego Comic Con during the summer and is still available to be watched online.  While I have never read the books the trailer is quite gripping and the series will hopefully fill the Buffy filled hole in my viewing until The Originals makes it’s return. While I won’t be at  MCM London Comic Con, I will be watching the first two episodes online when they air and am holding out hope for a new and exciting series. MCM London Comic Con runs from 24th-26th October at the Excel Centre and tickets can be purchased from their website. Source: MCM Comic Con...

Battlestar Galactica Vault Coming This October

Battlestar Galactica Vault Coming This October

23 Sep, 2014

Battlestar Galactica is one of those cult TV series that still draws new fans, mainly due to it’s innovative special effects, controversial storylines and amazing characters. Now Aurum Press are releasing an official guide to the history of the show, from 1978-2012. Drawing on unique insights from the original producer, Glen A. Larson, and exclusive interviews with David Eick and Ronald D. Moore – creators of the series’ acclaimed reimagining – Battlestar Galactica Vault offers a complete visual history of the show’s evolution, from 1978’s ‘Saga of a Star World’ to spin-offs Caprica and Blood & Chrome. Housed in a novelty extendable cover and featuring a treasure trove of behind-the-scenes images there are concept artworks by legendary artist Ralph McQuarrie, annotated scripts and storyboards, candid behind-the‐scenes photography, and ten meticulously reproduced pieces of memorabilia for readers to remove and examine. This promises to be one of those books to show off on your coffee table when all of your geeky friends are round as well as an in depth look at the making of this epic world.  In the past these I have seen these “vault” books go one of two ways, excellent and informative or lacking in real depth and providing nothing new to the hardcore fan.  I am hoping this will be the former of the two and you can keep and eye out for a Geek Syndicate review. The Battlestar Galactica Vault: The Complete History Of The Series, 1978-2012 is due for release on 23rd October and retails at £20. Source: Aurum Press...

Batgirl Rises International Trailer Released

Batgirl Rises International Trailer Released

8 Sep, 2014

With just under two months to go Love Entertainment has released an international trailer which gives a slower more detailed glimpse of Batgirl Rises. Last week we posted about the teaser trailer for Batgirl Rises, the latest fan film from the director Vincent Tran and Love Entertainment.  This week they have released an international trailer on Vimeo. A young determined librarian desperately seeks the truth, after her brothers disappearance, with a mysterious woman. The last trailer left me unsure what to expect and this trailer has done nothing to settle this.  The dialogue does give you more information about what to expect however it left me even more confused as it seems to contradict her brothers disappearance. I am still interested to see how this film plays out.  So far the casting of whom I can assume is Harleen Quinzel seems solid and the accent seems there but the casting of Barbara feels off at the moment, from the clips seems she just feels like she’s missing something. I am really hoping this is just me not seeing enough and the film will be awesome when it is released on 3rd November. Source: Batgirl Rises...
