Battlestar Galactica Vault Coming This October

Battlestar Galactica is one of those cult TV series that still draws new fans, mainly due to it’s innovative special effects, controversial storylines and amazing characters. Now Aurum Press are releasing an official guide to the history of the show, from 1978-2012.

Drawing on unique insights from the original producer, Glen A. Larson, and exclusive interviews with David Eick and Ronald D. Moore – creators of the series’ acclaimed reimagining – Battlestar Galactica Vault offers a complete visual history of the show’s evolution, from 1978’s ‘Saga of a Star World’ to spin-offs Caprica and Blood & Chrome.

Housed in a novelty extendable cover and featuring a treasure trove of behind-the-scenes images there are concept artworks by legendary artist Ralph McQuarrie, annotated scripts and storyboards, candid behind-the‐scenes photography, and ten meticulously reproduced pieces of memorabilia for readers to remove and examine.

This promises to be one of those books to show off on your coffee table when all of your geeky friends are round as well as an in depth look at the making of this epic world.  In the past these I have seen these “vault” books go one of two ways, excellent and informative or lacking in real depth and providing nothing new to the hardcore fan.  I am hoping this will be the former of the two and you can keep and eye out for a Geek Syndicate review.

The Battlestar Galactica Vault: The Complete History Of The Series, 1978-2012 is due for release on 23rd October and retails at £20.
