James Barclay Signing at Forbidden Planet

ravensoul

Thanks for the guys over at Forbidden Planet for sending over this press release about the signing.

Diary Date: Thursday 20th November 6 – 7pm

Forbidden Planet is pleased to announce that James Barclay will be signing Ravensoul at the Forbidden Planet Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8JR, on Thursday 20th November 2008.

Aside from being an Ipswich Town FC supporter, James is the author of multiple Raven novels and of The Ascendants of Estoria series. Having dabbled in both everything from electronic design to parcel delivery to acting, he has been writing full-time since 2004 and considers himself very lucky to make a living doing what he loves.

The fourth in the Legends of the Raven series, Ravensoul offers rumours of the dead coming back to life, the Elves fleeing their homeland. Something awful is happening; it’s spreading across the dimensions and threatens the very essence of the world. The Dead have returned to Balaia – and amongst them The Raven, desperate, facing a fight that cannot be won.

OK if you’ve never read any of James Barclay’s Raven books I got one question for you…Why the hell not? The Raven are like the Sword and Sorcery version of the Maginifence Seven or a bad ass version of the A-Team(Although these actually kill people).

I’ve read all of the Raven books and loved them. What I love most about them is rather than give you the usual farmboy becomes a knight/hero story these guys are already at the top of their game.

So if you like your sword and sorcery hard core then look no further. Also his story’s have real David Gemmell quality to them so check the books out and then head for the signing!

I’m definitely planning a trip down to London to pick up a signed copy.
