Cardiff Expo 2012 Spotlights Manga and Anime

The organisers of the Cardiff International Comic Expo  are starting to reveal more and more about the con as the launch for the second year of the event approches.

Another area of the convention which has fallen under the expansion spotlight for 2012 is the the Manga/Anime side of things as the team reveals what  fans attending the show can expect.

Cardiff Expo – more than just comics: Manga/Anime spotlight

Following last year’s highly successful Cardiff International Comic Expo, the Production Team have worked on expanding the convention, not just in terms of size (the Expo is now over three floors of the Mercure hotel), length (now two days instead of one) but in content too.

As well as a new and improved Cosplay Competition & Parade (with online registration, and more categories and prizes), there’s also more in the Main Hall for our Manga and Anime fans:

The Expo welcomes back OtakuZoku – specialist retailer of retro videogames, manga, comicbooks and toys – both from the UK and imported directly from Japan.  OtakuZoku are generously supporting the Cardiff Expo Cosplay Competition.

KEEP IT SECRET join the Expo for the first time – Keep It Secret ‘feed the thirst and hunger of the ever growing ‘Kawaii’ craving and love of Asian culture in the UK’, and are one of the South West’s best known Japanese and Asian Pop-Culture online stores, selling the very best in Japanese/Asian sweets along with Kawaii-Style gifts ranging from Stationery to Bento Box’s and Shopping bag’s to Pocky.

Winner of ‘Best Anime Distributor’ at the NEO Awards 2009, “The UK’s leading supplier of Anime films, both retail and wholesale” South Wales-based MVM ENTERTAINMENT is unique in the UK Anime industry in it’s multi-level supply, acting as licensor, distributor, wholesaler and retailer. MVM Entertainment are kindly donating prizes to the Cardiff Expo Cosplay Competition.

There are also several hugely talented manga/anime artists/illustrators attending the Expo: on Sunday only, artists collective  The Red Garden Artist Group join us, and two brilliant artists specialising in Manga/Anime art will be in residence in the Main Hall at the Expo all weekend – the brilliant NANIIEBIM and the fantastic DestinyBlue

More spotlights coming soon on Expo Launches, Animation, Panels and Workshops.
