Countdown to Bristol International Comic & Small Press Expo 2010 – Day 18 ‘Radio Interviews and Com.x 2010 Sketchbook Sampler’

So for today’s countdown I’m going to double up on items as we’re getting closer to the con. First up the lovely Mal of Fallen Angel Media and one of the brains behind the Small Press Expo, which is being held at the Mercure was a guest on a Movies and Music radio show, last weekend, hosted by Mark Le Leivre for BCfm – Bristol’s first community radio station. Here’s the blurb in the show.

The Movies and Music Programme is an Independent and Alternative look at the World of Film. With Local and National Film Event/Festival news and reviews. Dedicated Movie/TV and Game soundtrack mixes with clips and archive ad’s. Occasional Guests and Phone-in’s.

Mal got to play some tracks inbetween chatting about the con. If you want to check out the interview you can have a listen\download here.

Secondly the guys from COM.X who bought us the awesome Forty-Five will be on hand signing copies of the graphic novel but also there will be the chance to pick up a free and exclusive, limited edition Com.x 2010 sketchbook sampler featuring concept work from Forty-Five and other upcoming releases. Some of the artists’ work you’ll find inside are Andie Tong, Sean O’Connor, Steve ‘He should be an action hero with that name’) Sampson and Calum Alexander Watt.

For those of you who have never heard of 45 hold tight cause here comes the science bit!

Forty-Five is a series of Superhero interviews documented by James Stanley. As a soon-to-be father, James wants to find out what lies in store for his family if his unborn child turns out to have a Superpower. Forty-Fivefeatures Forty-Five different industry artists, all having just one page to capture the essence of each interview.

We reviewed 45 a while back on the podcast/website and  loved it. So if your fan of the graphic novel, bring along your copy and see if you can start collecting artists signatures for every page (god I’m making this sound like pokemon..gotta catch em all!).

See you tomorrow!
