Telling Tales – Sweatdrop Studios to launch a new anthology of Fairytale adaptations at MCM Expo

I’m always a fan of people using a different medium as a way to get stories into the hands of people who otherwise might never read them. Sweatdrop Studios have embraced this idea by taking classic fables and given them a sprinkle of the old comic book adaptation magic with a team of artists on board to illustrate the various stories.

The anthology graphic novel titled Telling Tales should go down well at the expo, given the popularity of manga with the majority of attendees.

The team from Sweatdrop will be set up in the Comic Village, which seems to be growing by the year and soon will be a mini comic con in it’s own right I’m guessing.

If you want to find out more about Telling Tales then check the blurb below and a gallery of images.

Sweatdrop Studios presents you with a collection of tales adapted from stories well-loved and time-tested. Contained within these pages you’ll find fables from near and far; some will shock, some will surprise and some will make you smile. Sweatdrop’s artists have scoured the globe for stories that have inspired and touched them in some way, and we hope that they’ll do the same for you.

Magic, greed, love, friendship, loss and punishment – fairytales have always encompassed a haunting mix of the fantastical and macabre. This anthology, perfect for bed-time reading, will capture all of that and more in Sweatdrop’s expected variety of styles and approaches; and the group are thrilled to be joined in this special book by guest creator Svetlana Chmakova(NightSchool/Dramacon).

Featuring Svetlana Chmakova, Emma Vieceli, Joanna Zhou, Irina Richards, Rebecca  Burgess, Marubelle Sinclaire, Sonia Leong & Faye Yong.
