Final Days of Kickstarter: Clockwork Watch: Tick Tock IPA #3

With all the thousands of Kickstarters out there it’s easy to find a campaign you love but then forget all about it. If that is you gentle geek then have no fear because here at Geek Syndicate we have the solution.

The purpose of our Final Days of Kickstarter column is to feature those projects that are  near end of their campaigns. This means that any of you lot that are  flush with a little extra cash can jump onboard at the last minute.

Now someone hand me my swordcane, clockwork googles and a pint of IPA  cause I’m off to the world of Clockwork Watch.

Clockwork Watch: Tick Tock IPA #3

If you like a massive dollop of steampunk goodness between the pages of your comic then I invite you to check the world of Clockwork Watch.

Clockwork Watch: Tick Tock IPA is a multicultural twist on the Victorian era, set in a genre called Steampunk, at a time when clockwork mechanics, and weird science are the two most important developments in the world.

Unlike most steampunk I’ve read in the past, be it comics or novels, the world of Clockwork Watch is an incredibly diverse one. Of course none of that would matter if the story was rubbish, which it is not, and it is an epic yarn which is being spun across multiple mediums.

Tick Tock IPA is the story of Ervin, a Clockwork Servant who falls into a brewery’s fermentation tank, and gains his sentience. Exactly the opposite of what would happen to a human being. He finds himself in a world sick to the core, searching for a miracle.

The series is a continuation of a story from the Steampunk world of Clockwork Watch. It’s a tale of perseverance and determination against the odds, the fight for freedom, and an alternative / fictionalised history of the Victorian era’s first internationally renowned Indian Pale Ale – Hodgson’s IPA.

How long do I have?

The project currently has 3 days to go.

Where is the project currently at?

As of today the campaign has raised £2,562 out of a £5000 goal.

I’ve been a big fan of the Clockwork Watch series, since the beginning. As well as the comics their have also been live interactive events, role play and more giving the the project a very cross medium, transmedia vibe. I do love me some Transmedia.

What’s in it for me?

Here are some of the perks on the Clockwork Watch: Tick Tock IPA #3 that stood out for me.

Thank you for supporting this project! Not only will you get lots of good karma for your donation, I will be sending special updates to backers at this level. You’ve helped make so

I know most Kickstarters have this minimum pledge idea but I wanted to give it a mention because I still think it is a great way for those who are strapped for cash to support something they love. And if you’re a bit of a Scrooge McDuck will then this is also the perk for you.

An exclusive digital copy of all three Tick Tock IPA books, packaged in a unique form, with editors notes on the original script, and digital copies of Clockwork Watch: The Arrival and Breakaway.

Now this is one is a good perk for me as it five graphic novels for 15 quid, in a digital format, which is a good deal in anyone’s book.

A limited edition hardback collection of all three Tick Tock IPA books. Some of these goodies will be taken to San Diego, but it’s one for the avid follower of Victoriana. Get them while you can!

Having read a couple of the Clockwork Watch books one of the biggest draws is the stunning watercolour artwork by Jennie Gyllblad. As I do read a lot of my comics in digital format (don’t judge me !) for a comic to get a spot on my limited shelf space it needs to be something special and usually a hardback (*winks at his Absolute edition of Planetary*). I think this perk would cover those requirements nicely.

Where can I find out more?
