What is Nick Prolix’s Slang Pictorial?
Slang Pictorial is my one-person anthology comic in which I serialize the retro comedy-drama The Sheep And The Wolves, a light-hearted look at the broken dreams and busted schemes of the many residents of a fictional London neighborhood at the start of the Swinging Sixties, as well as assorted other stories set in the same world. The comic harks back to classic newspaper strips, kitchen sink dramas and classic TV comedy, think Minder or Only Fools And Horses but with more immigrants!
Why should we pick this up?
Tony Esmond of Down The Tubes, praised its “iconic cartooning and sparky dialogue” while for Ben Howard of Graphic Policy its “the rich setting and fascinating characters” and Alex Thomas of Pipedream Comics calls it “a real gem”. They can’t all be wrong!
