SDCC 2013: I, Frankenstein at Nerd HQ

I continued my time at Nerd HQ by attending another film-related Conversation for a Cause for the upcoming Lionsgate flick I, Frankenstein. You might find this to be a recurring theme as I spent most of my panel time at this nerd mecca.

Starring Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Miranda Otto and Chuck’s Yvonne Strahovski, director Stuart Beattie has written a gritty action-thriller based on Kevin Grevioux’s graphic novel of the same name. Grevioux is best known for his work in the Underworld film franchise.

Here, we see Frankenstein isn’t just a monster.  He’s an intelligent, evolved man named Adam trying to find his purpose in the world who instead finds himself in the middle of a war between two immortal clans. Terra (Strahovski) is a scientist working to reanimate the dead and Miranda Otto is queen of the gargoyles to Bill Nighy’s villainous fallen angel who descended with Satan.

With the introduction of angels and gargoyles, this isn’t the traditional Frankenstein tale most people will be expecting. I certainly didn’t!  Check out our photo gallery below and keep an ear out for Kevin’s voice if you haven’t heard him before in the panel video – it’s pretty awesome:
