SDCC 2013: Preview Night with Stormtroopers at eFX Collectibles

efx-logo san-diego-comic-conIn previous years at Comic Con, I’ve always arrived early to ease myself into the geeky chaos.  But not this year! I hit the ground running with my friends from With An Accent to check out the exhibition floor as one does on preview night.  Bypassing the extremely long line at BBC America, we arrived at the eFX Collectibles booth right next door to see their latest development – the most detailed and accurate full-scale Stormtrooper uniform replica ever created.

But what makes this one different from all the others? It’s directly cast from the original, screen-used Stormtrooper armor from 1977’s Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope – no other collectible company has ever had full access to a production-used armor.  On display for the first time at Comic Con, we spoke with owner Bryan Ono on how this project came to be and what fans can expect when they go on sale.

Take a listen, check out some photos of the armor and maybe you’ll end up purchasing one of eFX’s replicas (approximately $2,000 a pop). Talk about the ultimate must-have item for any Star Wars fan!
