First time director takes on Gerry Anderson’s UFO

When I was a kid UFO showed me the future was dodgy haircuts and cars where the door open funny but man did I love that show. The show was about a secret organisation that battled an alien threat with a base hidden under a film studio. The TV show cameĀ  from the genius of Gerry Anderson who bought us Thunderbirds, Joe 90, Stingray and Captain Scarlet.

Well I had heard a while ago that someone had picked up the right to UFO as a film and then it all went silent. Over at Variety they are now reporting that visual effects supervisor Matthew Gratzner will be making his directorial debut with the film.

Gratzner has worked on such films as “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor,” “Hancock,” and “Iron Man”

Here’s hoping he knocks it out of the park with his first job as a director.
