The Dark Tower Film and TV Adaptations are Scrapped

Anyone expecting to see Stephen King’s The Dark Tower in the cinema is going to have a long, long wait.

Now I’ve not read the Dark Tower myself, despite hearing nothing but good about the series, but it looks like now I won’t be watching them at the cinema or on TV either.

Universal has officially closed the book on its ambitious three-movie and TV series adaptation of Stephen King’s fantasy Western from Imagine Entertainment, writer Akiva Goldsman and director Ron Howard. – Heat Vision

Apparently this is the second time someone has trying to bring this epic to be big screen. I’ve never read any of the books so I have no idea of the scale of the project but I would be interested to hear from fans of the series to get their thought on why this project can’t seem to get a break.

  1. Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!
I absolutely love the Dark Tower series. Was really looking forward to seeing how the adaptation shaped up, particularly given the fascinating idea of mixing up tv and movie mediums. A sad, sad day.
