The Summer of Indie – Check out ‘Plot Device’ the Short Film that took on Hollywood

This short film Plot device is a great example of the kind of stuff were trying to highlight with the Summer of Indie. Sometimes the best way to make things happen is to get off your ass and make it happen.

It’s a simple tale: A guy buys a how-to device that magically transports him into different storytelling genres, but it’s done with humor and with a certain amount of pizzazz that is quite winning. Worley wrote and directed Device and did the visual effects himself; Worley’s brother is the star and provided music. – Heat Vision

Also check out a behind the scene look at the making of Plot Device.

The film is great as is the premise having a device that can move you through genres. Personally I think it would make for a great quatum leap style TV series.

Seth Worley, the man behind Plot Device now has several meetings in August with some of the big players in Hollywood.  Just goes to show you what you can do with 10,000$, a crew paid in free software and a great idea.

So the motto is if you can’t get to Hollywood then make them come to you!

By the way watched out  for the ‘I got three days til retirement’ line… it’s awesome!
