X-Men: Days Of Future Past’s Mystique “is Mutant and Proud”

X-Men-first-picture Jennifer Lawrence talks Mystique’s character development in X-Men: Days Of Future Past

“I’m naked,” says Jennifer Lawrence, putting it bluntly. “But when I do get to wear clothes, I love the ’70s outfits.” She will be reprising the role of Mystique, set 10 years later after X-Men: First Class.

Lawrence’s costume is a body suit rather than being covered in body paint, and it’s a darker shade of blue than in X-Men: First Class, more like Rebecca Romijn’s version of Mystique. Lawrence explains: “Some of the Mystique look is a little different, but we’re still using the same paint. But she’s different in this film too,” she continues, “She was struggling – like a lot of normal humans – with the way she looked, and she was covered up a lot in the first movie, but this time she is Mutant and proud.”

From the sneak previews that director Bryan Singer is tweeting, Mystique will have some great action scenes, like the one below:
