2D Persistent RPG Zodiac Announced for Vita and iOS Devices

Kobojo, developers who have become known for their hand-drawn 2D graphics, has announced Zodiac, a 2D persistent online RPG for the Playstation Vita and iOS devices. Due for release in 2015, the game is being developed with some of the creative talent from the Final Fantasy franchise of games such as composer Hitoshi Sakimoto and writer Kazushige Nojima. All audio and sound is being created by Basiscape who are renowned for their work on such RPGs as Dragon’s Crown and Valkyria Chronicles.

“Working with iconic developers such as Sakimoto-san and Nojima-san has pushed us to perfect every element of the RPG experience for mobile and handheld devices,” said Mario Rizzo, CEO, Kobojo. “The combination of their deep knowledge and history along with our company’s experience and artistic style is leading to the creation of Zodiac, our dream cross-platform RPG.”

Zodiac is being developed in Kobojo’s new studio in Dundee, Scotland and will blend classic elements of Japanese RPGs with carefully hand-drawn artwork. Check out some lovely screenshots below:
