Fans of the Telltale Games style of narrative gaming won’t have too long to wait to get their hands on Batman- The Telltale Series, as its first episode will be available digitally at some point during August. Sorry that there is no concrete date as of yet, apparently that will be announced when the new trailer is released next week. What we do know is that the physical edition (in the form of a season pass disc), will be available to buy in North American stores from the 13th September (or the 16th if you are in Europe), which will include the first episode and allow the owner to download the following four as they are released.
The announcement of release dates comes on the back of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Telltale Games agreeing a world-wide retail agreement that should enable work between the two companies to move forward in a beneficial way. It also includes the upcoming season three of Telltale’s The Walking Dead series, which should be out sometime this autumn.
“Telltale has a stellar reputation for delivering quality content based on world-renowned properties and these games make a great addition to our line-up. We previously worked with Telltale on The Wolf Among Us and now on the recently announced Batman – The Telltale Series, so we are very pleased to expand our partnership with worldwide retail distribution for its upcoming titles.” – Kevin Kebodeaux, Senior Vice President, Sales, Americas, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment.
Anyone visiting San Diego Comic Con next week (23rd July) has the chance to experience Batman – The Telltale Series in a crowd play event along with Troy Baker, Greg Miller and some of the Telltale team. You need to register for the event however, so click the Telltale link below to find out more.
