If you are a fan of post-apocalypse video games, besides having a lot of choice, you might just be interested in Deadlight: Director’s Cut, a version of the 2012 survival game that is set to add new bits and pieces and will release for PS4, Xbox One and PC on the 21st June 2016.
I played through and completed the original version of Deadlight a good few years ago, giving the moody yet stylish game 5/5 in my Geek Syndicate review. The game follows the trials and tribulations of Randall Wayne as he searches for his family in 1980s Seattle. That doesn’t sound so bad, until you add some reanimated dead to the mix. Timing perilous platform jumps dispatching the nasties around you all unfolds in its own grim beauty. Think Limbo meets The Walking Dead.
Deadlight: Director’s Cut is set to add new animations, enhanced controls, full 1080p support and a brand new Survival Area mode, among other improvements. If you missed the original version for whatever reason, you might want to take a look at this new version when it comes out in a few month’s time.
