FATED: The Silent Oath Launching On Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Playstation VR

Now that VR is finally here, for some of us at least, it is certainly an interesting time with regard to what games will be unleashed to dazzle and enrapture us. Frima Studio has announced once such game: FATED: The Silent Oath, a Norse-themed first-person adventure set in the time of the Vikings. The game has been created specifically for VR and tells the tale of a man and his family at the time of Ragnarök (the end times).

“Fear is a concept that is relatively easy to achieve in Virtual Reality, but for FATED, we wanted to explore compassion, sadness, happiness and other complex emotions. Nothing is stronger than the connection between a parent and his child. We knew we would strike a sensitive chord with players in FATED.” – Vincent Martel, Executive Producer on FATED.

FATED: The Silent Oath is due to release on the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive on the 28th April, and it will also be a launch title on the Playstation VR. VR would seem to have the potential to make any game more visceral, simply by virtue of the player feeling more part of the action. Games like FATED: The Silent Oath certainly sound an intriguing proposition, and the trailer below certainly paints an interesting picture:
