Drake’s Fortune the movie finds it’s Screenwriters

If there is one thing I’ve taken away from both the Uncharted games is that I would love to see the antics of treasure hunter Nathan Drake up on the big screen.

I knew the first game, Drake’s Fortune, had been optioned and a screenwriter attached, who later pulled out, but then everything went kind of quiet on that front (or maybe I was too busy playing Uncharted 2 to care). It seems that in my gaming nirvana the wheels of Hollywood were still turning and as a result a screenwriting duo have been given the job of adapting the story for the big screen.

Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer who previous credits included Sahara, which is a very similar set to Uncharted so at least these fellas are no strangers to the adventure genre.

I have to admit that as much as I would love to see this on a big screen there that other side of me that thinks that it’s pretty much an interactive big budget movie anyway on the console so is this really worth doing?  I guess I’ll get the answer to that question when I eventually sit down to watch the film on opening night.

No cast *cough* Nathan Fillion as Nathan Please *cough*or production start date  has been announced yet . Rest assured though I’m be following this project very closely.
