Games Media Awards 2011 Finalists Announced

We’ve become used to gaming awards with the best games, developers and publishers fighting it out to walk away with a prestigious award such as Game of the Year, Best Developer and Best Gameplay. The Games media awards (gma) is not about the games but looks to recognise those  that bring us all the latest news, previews and reviews from the games industry

After weeks of voting, and thousands of individual nominations, this year’s Games Media Awards have been announced by MCV.

Now a select panel of industry professionals will be called upon to select their winners from the shortlist of websites, podcasts, blogs, writers, and printed press.

This will culminate in spectacular event on 26th October, at Vinopolis in central London, where winners will be announced in a ceremony hosted by star stand-up comedian and actor Greg Davies, followed by what is now known as one of the ultimate social highlights in the gaming calendar, the GMA party!

Lisa Carter – Managing Editor, Intent Media, has said “The Games Media Awards are now in their fifth year and have become the most important night of the year for the industry’s editors and journalists.

This year we’ve received thousands more nominations from the media itself, the industry and consumers. And this has resulted in more media outlets and individuals than ever being listed as finalists.

The awards are going to be incredibly hard-fought this year. We’re looking forward to seeing you all for a great night at Vinopolis on Wednesday October 26th.”

With up to 350 guests packing out this year’s festivities Games Media Awards, including nearly 200 media, a limited number of trade tickets are available at £99 per person. Please contact [email protected] for further details.
