Two Free Maps Available September 17 for PLAYSTATION®3, Xbox 360® and Games for Windows®

Monday 14th September/… Eidos Interactive Ltd. and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced the Insane Night Map Pack, a free downloadable map pack for the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum action adventure title. Beginning September 17th, the Insane Night Map Pack will be available from PlayStation® Store, Xbox® LIVE Marketplace, and Games for Windows® LIVE Marketplace, and offer gamers two new Challenge Maps to hone their FreeFlow™ Combat skills and test their Invisible Predator™ prowess.

In the ‘Totally Insane’ FreeFlow Combat map, players will be tested to their fullest as scores of escaped lunatics bear down upon BATMAN as they make their escape through the asylum’s secure records facility. These fast-moving foes will challenge all but the most practiced players, with quick reactions and expert timing needed to fend off wave upon wave of insane inmates, bent on taking down the DARK KNIGHT. In the ‘Nocturnal Hunter’ Invisible Predator map, players take on a wholly different approach, practicing their predatory skills to remain in the shadows, utilizing the Arkham watchtowers and Batman’s arsenal of gadgets to gain the upper hand on The Joker’s army of goons patrolling below.

The Insane Night Map Pack will be available from September 17th for PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, and the soon to be released Games for Windows® LIVE edition.

In Batman: Arkham Asylum, developed by Rocksteady Studios and based on DC Comics’ Batman license, the Dark Knight takes on his greatest challenge yet when he becomes trapped with all of his most dangerous villains inside the insane asylum of GOTHAM CITY – ARKHAM ASYLUM! Since its release, Batman: Arkham Asylum has garnered the acclaim of gamers and critics alike, achieving an average score of 92 from reviews around the world*, earning it a Guinness World Record for ‘Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever.’

Batman: Arkham Asylum is rated “T” for Teen and is available for PLAYSTATION3 and Xbox 360 for the suggested retail price of $59.99. It will also be available for Games for Windows LIVE at retail outlets for the suggested retail price of $49.99 on September 15, 2009. For more information, please visit

Phew, glad to see this is coming out for PC. I don’t get to play the game till this weekend thanks to stupid PC delay and would have had to kill people if they’d left out the DLC.

Perfectly understandable on the killing part. On saying that the PC version looks well worth the wait!

  2. Funny story about the PC version. Apparently some guy got hold of a hacked version over the internet. Started to play it and found that the glide kick function wasn’t working.

It turns out that it wasn’t a bug in the game. It was a programming hook that Eidos had put in the game in order to stop people from downloading hacked version from being able to play it.

That aside. Can’t wait to see these new maps.
