The second part of the episodic game Life Is Strange has a release date, and it’s just over a week away. *Cue my excited squeals*
Life is Strange is a five-part episodic game that sets out to revolutionise story based choice and consequence games by allowing the player to rewind time and affect the past, present and future.
You are Max, a photography senior who saves her old friend Chloe by discovering she can rewind time. The pair soon find themselves exposed to the darker side of Arcadia Bay as they uncover the disturbing truth behind the sudden disappearance of a fellow student.
Meanwhile, Max begins to have premonitions as she struggles to understand the implications of her power. She must quickly learn that changing the past can sometimes lead to a devastating future.
In a dev session at EGX Rezzed this weekend Aoife Wilson played live the first 15 minutes of the game (with some decision-making help from the audience) and the team from Dontnod Entertainment announced that the release date of episode two will be 24th March across all platforms. The whole 15 minutes of gameplay has been uploaded to YouTube and can be found here.
However if you a like me and don’t want any outside influences affecting your decisions in episode two you can get your fix by watching the developer diary about Creating Arcadia Bay or my personal choice listening to the amazing soundtrack via either Spotify or YouTube.
Whatever you choose to do over the next week if you haven’t played episode one of Life Is Strange that is something you must do. I loved the first episode and left me wanting to play the second one right away.
The game is available on PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, each episode is £3.99 or you can purchase a season pass for £15.99.
