MCM Expo 2011 Joins Forces With GameSpot UK

And once again MCM Expo is not content to rest on it’s laurels with yet another big annoucement, this time from the world of gaming. Hopefully this announcement will mean some more games on display than in previous years.

With the first Cardiff Comic Con a rousing success, the Kapow Comic Con still to launch and no BICS this making for a very interesting year convention wise.

MCM Expo Partners With GameSpot UK

The MCM Expo London Comic Con is delighted to announce its official partnership with GameSpot UK, the leading source of information, entertainment and community for UK gamers. The partnership with GameSpot extends to London’s MCM Expo in both May and October.

At the centre of the partnership will be the ‘GameSpot UK @ MCM Expo’ stage, where visitors to the show will be able to enjoy the latest trailers, panel discussions, and presentations from special guests. The stage will be hosted by the GameSpot UK editorial team, led by Guy Cocker and Jane Douglas.

GameSpot UK will also have a booth on the show floor, hosting exclusive early looks at some of 2011’s biggest games.

Now in its tenth year, the London MCM Expo attracts major game developers from EA Games to Ubisoft and Capcom to Nintendo, giving the event’s 50,000+ visitors the chance to get hands-on with the hottest new titles and upcoming releases.

“GameSpot UK is a perfect fit for London’s Comic Con and we’re absolutely thrilled to have them on board,” said MCM Expo co-organiser Bryan Cooney. “We aim to give our visitors the very best in pop culture, whether it’s games, movies, comics, cosplay or anime, and the ‘GameSpot UK @ MCM Expo’ stage is a great way to raise gaming’s profile at the show and put it at the heart of the Expo experience.”

GameSpot UK Publishing Director, Ben Howard commented, “We’re delighted to be partnering with MCM Expo, an event which has become a mainstay in the pop-culture calendar, with some of the biggest names in games, movies, TV and comics making an appearance.

“We believe GameSpot UK’s partnership with MCM will continue to grow video gaming’s presence at the show and give the show’s visitors a fantastic early look at the games they should be playing over the next year.”

London MCM Expo takes place at ExCel London on 27-29 May and 28-30 October.
