Microsoft Hits the Offensive on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

Xbox One 2With the negative PR Microsoft has received since the unveiling on the Xbox One and the recent E3 event, they need to go on  serious marketing and PR offensive if they are to ensure that the Xbox One doesn’t suffer the sales disaster currently being predicted by many. Part of this offensive kicked off with a segment on a recent episode of the Jimmy Fallon show in the US

Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios, used the five-minute slot to showcase the new console by playing a round of Killer Instinct against Jimmy Fallon before Jimmy then had a race on Forza Motorsport 5. Appearing on shows like Late Night seems to fall into line with Microsoft strategy as they target the Xbox One to not just gamers but general consumers as an all in one entertainment system.

Time will tell us if this proves to be a successful strategy for them after the consoles goes on sale in November around the same time as the PS4, which is currently outselling the Xbox One with pre-orders sales on many of the major online retailers like Amazon.
