Microsoft Releases XBLA Games for Windows 8

Microsoft PlayKeen to benefit from the popularity of casual mobile gaming and its popular Xbox Marketplace games library, Microsoft has released 15 Xbox Live Arcade games for Windows 8 and Windows RT device including the Surface, as part of its new PLAY service.

Play is a new service geared at providing games to Windows 8 and RT tablets and other devices via Microsoft’s  XBLA library of games. Initially launching with 15  Xbox titles, gamers will be able to access their own Xbox gamertag, statistics and a new Marketplace will be available later this year. Microsoft’s official blurb says:

Get your game on with this amazing line-up of titles from Microsoft Studios. Our games have something for everyone, from casual puzzlers and high energy racing to immersive adventure and non-stop arcade. For Xbox fans you’ll also find your favourite features like leaderboards, multiplayer modes, connecting with friends, and more.
