Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic Coming to iPad

Starwars-The-Old-RepublicBioWare’s popular Star Wars RPG, Knights of the Old Republic has been released on the Apple Apps store for iPad. The iOS game has been developed by Aspyr Media as a direct port of the classic PC version.

Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic takes place approximately 4,000 years before the rise of the Galactic Empire. Ex-Jedi Darth Malak, a Dark Lord of the Sith and Darth Revan’s former apprentice, has unleashed a Sith armada against the Republic. Malak’s aggression has left the Jedi scattered and vulnerable; many Jedi Knights have fallen in battle and others have sworn allegiance to Malak and Revan.

Game Features:

• An epic Star Wars™ role-playing experience with unique characters, creatures, vehicles and planets.
• Learn to use the Force with over 40 different powers, plus build your own lightsaber.
• Adventure through iconic Star Wars locations, including Tatooine and the Wookiee homeworld Kashyyyk.
• Choose your party from nine customizable characters, including Twi’leks, droids and Wookiees.
• Travel to eight enormous worlds in your own starship, the Ebon Hawk.
• A streamlined user interface custom-made for the iPad’s touch screen helps immerse you in the action.

Back in May, BioWare’s parent company EA announced that it had acquired the exclusive rights to develop “core” Star Wars games in a multi-year deal with Disney spanning “all interactive platforms and the most popular game genres”. Perhaps this will lead to a future Bioware developed Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic 3.

Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic is available now on the Apple App store for $9.99 is the US and £6.99 in the UK.
