World Of Warcraft Loses 600,000 Subscribers in 3 months

World of WarcraftWith the growth of new free to play MMORPG games and many existing subscription based MMORPG games going free to play, you might asked what’s the point paying to play a game. Well it looks like many gamer’s of the most popular paid for MMO have been asking themselves that question.  World of Warcraft, the massively popular MMO has seen 600,000 subscribers leave in three months.

With these 600,000 it means a total of nearly two million players have cancelled their subscription since the start of the year. Announcing its second quarter, results, publisher Activision Blizzard, said it now had 7.7 million subscribers. At the start of 2013, shortly after expansion pack Mists of Pandria was launched, it reported it had 9.6 million.

At its peak in October 2010, 12 million people were signed up to World of Warcraft.
