Xbox One digital games prices & install sizes revealed

xbox-OneIn either an error or planned PR leak, Microsoft briefly put the UK Xbox One digital games store live before switching back to the older version of the site. While live some information regarding the cost and install file sizes for upcoming launch games were revealed.Disappointingly for me it seems that like with the Xbox 360, digital games don’t look like they will be discounted from retail version with the average price for a digital copy of a third-party title a  shocking £54.99, although the same official RRP offered in the Microsoft Store.

First-party, Microsoft Studios titles like Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3 will cost from £44.99 to £49.99.

What is worrying  is that Microsoft has said that the 500 GB storage of the Xbox One is not swappable and with install sizes of games up to 37 GB, thought 500 GB wont last too long with enthusiasts.

Here’s the full list of Xbox One Day One titles and their install sizes:

Wow Angry Birds: Star Wars for £35.19. I paid £1.99 for that on my iPad – is it really worth £33 more than the version I have?

Xbone only able to fit on 11.5 games the size of NBA 2K14 as well (not counting thing like downloaded BluRay movies) – I can see as a problem for a console that will probably be around for 5-10 years.
I can’t see game sizes getting smaller in the future either for the next gen consoles – let me guess a hard drive add-on will be out within 6-12 months, then xbox one special editions will be released with larger built in hard drives
