Use Your Gaming Superpowers to Help Fight Cancer this April

Play Games. Raise Money. Save Lives. Those are the words you will see if you click the link below this article. It was such a succinct way of explaining things, I thought I would start this news piece with the very same words. Stand Up To Cancer wants gamers, PC or console, to join it on the 29th April, in a fundraising event to help raise money for cancer research. 100% of the money raised will go towards this research, and it is certainly needed, as 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer.

There are a number of ways a gamer can take part. Once you register, you will get your own fundraising page, which is something that you can easily link to on your social media as you get friends and family to sponsor you. You can Game Solo or Game Together (with friends), and there are a number of ways to take part, from playing a game solo for 6hrs, to organising an event with friends so that you can compete, and have a laugh at the same time.

I lost a friend to cancer a couple of months ago. Seeing the way it claimed him was truly shocking, no matter how upbeat he stayed. Anything we can do to drag this cancer character behind the bushes, give it a good thrashing and banish it from the world is certainly worth doing. Visit the link below to read more and, if you are able, to sign up and take part.
