The 12th Doctor’s Costume – Revealed!

When it was revealed to the world that Peter Capaldi would be the 12th Doctor, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who wondered what he’d be wearing. Each incarnation of the Doctor has his own original style –  lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat said that it’s:  “New Doctor, new era, and of course new clothes. Monsters of the universe, the vacation is over – Capaldi is suited and booted and coming to get you!” No more bowties and fezzes that’s for sure!

BBC America has just released the image of Peter Capaldi in his new costume and you can find it below:

He’s wearing a dark blue Crombie coat with red lining, dark blue trousers, a white shirt as well as black Doc Marten shoes. The look was created by Doctor Who costume designer Howard Burden.  Capaldi said that:He’s woven the future from the cloth of the past. Simple, stark, and back to basics. No frills, no scarf, no messing, just 100 per cent Rebel Time Lord.”

We’ll get to see it and all the cosplayers doning this new outfit soon I’m sure! Filming on the upcoming season, which also stars Jenna Coleman (Death Comes to Pemberley) as companion Clara, is currently underway in Cardiff.
