24: Live Another Day Series Details Released

Producers of 24 have announced that a new series of the show will be filmed in London. Plans for the new 12-episode show were announced last year, but more details have been released, including a US start date.

The new series is set Four years after the end of the last series and after evading capture, Jack finds himself on the run in London with good friend Chloe O’Brian helping his to evade the CIA.

24 was previous famous for its pseudo real-time 24 format episodes where each one represented an hour in Bauer’s life, however the new series will take place over just 12 hour-long instalments but will retain the real-time format with split screens and interwoven storylines.

Along with Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe), Kim Raver (Audrey Raines) and William Devane (James Heller) are back after appearing in the original series. There will also be several new characters including Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck), Giles Matthey (True Blood), Gbenga Akinnagbe (The Wire), Michael Wincott (Hitchcock) and Judy Davis (Who Dares Wins).

The series will start filming at various locations in London in February and the new series will start in the US on 5 May on Fox with a two-hour special followed by its normal one-hour episodes format. It will then start in the UK later in May on Sky 1 HD.

At the reveal event on Monday star Kiefer Sutherland said

“I’m about as anxious and wound up as I’ve been in a long time,” he said. There’s a great impetus for all of us to create something new with the show.”
