When I got sent this article to run featuring Yoda’s greatest quotes the fella in question said “I didn’t know if this would be your sort of thing.”ah the foolish young Padawan I thought.

Out of all the many Star Wars characters Yoda has always stood head and shoulders above the other characters for me (pardon the bad joke) with good old Han Solo coming in a very close second.

So I was more than happy to run this article featuring some of Yoda great quotes.

STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS – Complete Season One is available to own on Blu-ray and DVD from November 16.

As war rages through the galaxy, the heroic Jedi, including Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and newcomer Ahsoka Tano, fight to maintain order and restore peace. Meanwhile, the Separatists, led by Count Dooku, his assassin Asajj Ventress and the evil General Grievous, plot to defeat the Republic and gain control.

Each episode takes you deeper into the universe, introducing new characters and exploring new planets along the way. However one familiar face throughout the series is Great Master Yoda, and ever present beacon of the force since The Empire Strikes Back.

In STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS Complete Season One, like all the Jedi who have gone before them, Obi-Wan Kenobi and his new Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, must turn to Yoda’s teachings in search of more philosophical wisdom. To celebrate the release we give you a reminder of his inspiration with a list of some of his greatest quotes, form The Empire Strikes Back to The Clone Wars

Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back
Great warrior, hmm? Wars not make one great.
Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm?
Try not. Do or do not. There is no try.
A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack.
Anger, fear, aggression. The dark side of the Force are they.

Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi
Ah, strong am I with the Force, but not that strong. Twilight is upon me, and soon, night must fall. That is the way of things. The way of the Force.
Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.
When nine hundred years old you reach, look as good, you will not.

Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace
Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.
Always two there are, no more, no less. A master and an apprentice.
May the Force be with you.

Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones
Mmm. Lost a planet, Master Obi-Wan has. How embarrassing. How embarrassing.
Truly wonderful, the mind of a child is.
Victory? Victory you say? Master Obi-Wan, not victory. The shroud of the dark side has fallen. Begun the Clone War has.

Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith
Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not. Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed that is.
Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose.
Twisted by the dark side, young Skywalker has become. The boy you trained, gone he is…

Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Smaller in number we are but larger in mind. “Ambush”
To answer power with power, the Jedi way this is not. In this war, a danger there is of losing who we are. “Lair of Grievous”

Now that was a good list but they missed off a vital longer quote that when I watched The Empire Strikes Back as a kid made me believe that a puppet into master of the force. Now I’m typing this from memory rather than looking it up so forgive me if it’s not word perfect.

Yoda “and well you should not for my ally is the force and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it makes it grow. It’s energy surrounds us and binds us, luminous beings are we not this crude matter. You must feel the force around you between you, me, the tree, the rock, the and the ship.”

Luke “You want the impossible”

We then get treated to awesome blend of special effects, cinematography and music as Yoda uses the force to lift the X-wing out of the swamp. When it’s all  over we get this awesome little exchange between Yoda and Luke.

Yoda “That is why you fail”

And my personal two faves from Revenge of the Sith.

“At an end your reign is and not soon enough it was.”

“If so powerful you are why leave?”

Yoda sir I salute you.
