Apple Bytes #11 – iTunes EA Games Sale & 12 Days of Xmas

EA Games Sale on the iTunes Store & make sure you download the famous “12 Days of Christmas” app. The final Apple Bytes of 2012 was going to be a scathing summary on why the iPad Mini is as under-spec’d as the iPhone 5 is, why iOS 6 needs a serious face-lift to allow multi-screening, and a catalogue of how bad Apple Maps really is (Berlin in the Antarctic… classic!).

Instead, there is good news for the festive season. To celebrate Christmas, EA Games have dropped 55 of their titles by up to a massive 90% of the usual price on iTunes. As such, today I picked up titles such as FIFA ’13, The Dark Knight Rises, Need For Speed, Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit and Tiger Woods PGA Tour, all for £0.69 each. In addition, Warner Bros have reduced their games to $0.99, so you can get Batman: Arkham City Lockdown for the equivalent, £0.69.

To ‘Marvel’ match that, you can get the full version of the Iron Man 2 game for £0.69, and saving the best for last, the updated Avengers Initiative game, which allows you to play as either The Hulk or Cap Am, is available for FREE(!), but at 1.6GB, it’s a beast – so make sure you’ve got plenty of free space available! Oh, and there’s also another freebie – Iron Man: Armoured Avenger, read by Stan Lee, which is an interactive book detailing Shell-head’s first meeting with The Mandarin (clearly being released to whet the appetite for next year’s Iron Man 3 movie).

Finally, if you haven’t already done so, make sure you download the iTunes 12 Days of Christmas app. From Boxing Day, you’ll get a free download each day for 12 days including games, songs, TV shows & films. Last year’s offerings included the James McAvoy comedy “Starter For 10”, Sonic The HedgeHog & Shift 2: Unleashed full games and episodes of Top Gear, House & 30 Rock.

Have a great Christmas, and see you in 2013!
