Appointment with F.E.A.R to be Released as Interactive Graphic Novel

Tin Man games has announced that it will release Steve Jackson’s Appointment with F.E.A.R in the form of an interactive graphic novel. The format will allow the reader to customize their superhero and choose their own path via its comic-like interface.

Unlike the almost thirty year old original, readers can make decisions and choices that will make their defender of justice experience their own path to each dilemma, villain and ultimately, to the Titanium Cyborg and F.E.A.R meeting. The reader will be able to choose their hero’s looks, gender, super power, costume and even name.

Neil Rennison, Creative Director for Tin Man Games, said: “This is our first foray into a new area  for interactive fiction and gamebooks. Appointment with F.E.A.R. cried out to be presented in a new and stylised way and as the new engine started coming together visually, we knew we were on to something pretty special. We’re looking forward to getting our teeth into some other comic book licenses in the future too!”

Along with the experience of the story, random trading cards will drop which are swappable with other players via Facebook. The more clever the reader with their decisions in the story, the more valuable and rare the cards that are collected will be.

Appointment with F.E.A.R itself is the story of the superhero’s daily life and encounters with the various criminal elements of Titan City. This is done by narrative based combat with the aim of trying to find enough clues that will enable the arrest of the villains and for the hero to work out where the F.E.A.R meeting is being held.
