On the Geek Syndicate podcast Dave often talks about how much he has enjoyed Ben Aaronovitch’s Rivers of London Book Series. I had always planned to give them a read but something always seemed to get in the way (Harry Dresden audio books I am glaring at you). Anyway now that Titan Comics are bringing out an all new Rivers of London story in comic book form written by Ben Aaronovitch and Andrew Cartmel with art by Lee Sullivan means I can finally jump on the gravy train.
In the build up to the release of the first issue, which is set to hit shops 15th July, Titan Comics have released some preview art which you can check out below. I like the look of this comic already and as I have never read a single line of prose from the books I have no preconceived idea of what these characters should look like. It is not often I’m in that position so it is a refreshing change.
I’m interested to hear from fans of the book and their thoughts on the look of the characters in these pages compared to the novels.
Peter Grant has come a long way since first entering the special branch of London’s Metropolitan Police. With his hard-earned powers and a flair for the supernatural, it’s his job to investigate those shadowy crimes that involve urban vampires, weird folk in the Underground and, in this case, why cars are suddenly taking on lives of their own and killing innocent people!
