Being Human & Merlin Successes for Syfy

Vampires and werewolves, ghosts and wizards oh my! We sure do love our fantasy shows as finales for Syfy’s Being Human and Merlin are bonafide successes for the cable network. The former was the network’s most successful new series of the winter season and the third season of the British drama drew record ratings in the highly sought after 18-49 demo.

The re-imagined Being Human has already been renewed for a second season and ended its freshman run this past Monday drawing 1.66 million total viewers, the best numers since Battlestar Galactica‘s debut in 2005.

The third season finale of Syfy’s Merlin drew record ratings Friday. The Coming of Arthur: Part 2 drew 1.87 million total viewers and compared to the previous week was up 31 percent in total viewers, 30 percent in the 18-49 demo (621,000) and 20 percent in adults 25-54 (788,000). With numbers like those, I would be very surprised if Syfy didn’t bring the young wizard back to US screens for a fourth season.

I recently discovered Merlin and Being Human. These two shows are something different that I’ve enjoyed watching lately. So far out of the two, Being Human is my favorite. But I live a very busy life and don’t always have time to watch TV at home. I can use my Droid to access my DVR anywhere I have a 3G connection. Being that I am a customer and employee of DISH Network I can do this using Sling Technology. I can’t recommend the TV Everywhere feature enough to anyone with a busy lifestyle.
