Big Finish Announce Tenth Doctor Audios!

I’ve felt the rumblings of this one under my feet for a while now. From the announcement of “new monsters, old Doctors” and the War Doctor adventures to the Torchwood and “New Who” UNIT adventures. It was inevitable.

Or so I hoped.

It turns out that it was! Big Finish Productions have finally confirmed the production of a range of adventures for one of the more recent incarnations of the nation’s favourite Time and Space travelling alien. In May 2016, the company will be releasing a trilogy of “Tenth Doctor Adventures” featuring David Tennant’s Doctor and Catherine Tate who will naturally be reprising her role as Donna Noble.

Available individually or as a set, the adventures announced are as follows:

The series opens with Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures: Technophobia by Matt Fitton, which is set in a London slightly in the future, where mankind is gradually losing its ability to use everyday technology. Could there be an evil force at work?

In Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures: Time Reaver by Jenny T Colgan the Doctor and Donna arrive on Calibris – ‘An entirely mechanical planet. Catch, hitch, fuel, fix, buy, pretty much any kind of transportation in existence.’ It’s also a world full of scoundrels, where a deadly black market has opened up in a device known only as the Time Reaver.

Finally, in Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures: Death and the Queen by James Goss, Donna is swept along in a fairytale romance and meets the man of her dreams in the beautiful land of Goritania. What can possibly go wrong? And why has the Doctor never heard of Goritania?

More than anything else, I’m really pleased that the hard work and skill that the team at Big Finish have put into their range of Doctor Who audio adventures over the last thirteen years or so has allowed them to achieve licences for elements of the re-launched version of the long-running show.

I look forward to hearing more from the Tenth (and hopefully Ninth, Eleventh and Twelfth!) Doctor further down the line!
