“Bond 50 on Blu-Ray” UK Launch Tour

To kick off the release of new “50 Years of Bond on Film” Blu-Ray collection, and in the run up to this Autumn’s cinematic release of “SkyFall”, the 23rd film in the longest running and most successful film franchise of all time, past Bond films actors, actresses and locations will come together for a one-off UK wide launch event.

So in a publicity stunt worthy of Bond himself, James Bond no. 3 Sir Roger Moore sent the golden briefcase containing the very first copy of the “Bond 50 Blu-Ray” collection (available from Sept 24th ), on the first step of a journey which will see it travel in an Aston Martin DBS the length & breadth of the UK during Monday 17th to Monday 24th September, to mark the Golden Anniversary of 007 on film. Iconically, the 7 day journey will begin at exactly 10.07am on Monday 17th September.

BOND 50 Blu-Ray marks the first time all 22 current films are released on Blu-ray together, 9 of which have never been available on Blu-Ray, in a stylish box-set includes an additional 12o hours of bonus material.

Throughout its journey, the case will also be handed to & from other Bond film icons including stars Britt Ekland, Shirley Eaton, Tania Mallet, Eunice Gayson, Richard Kiel and legendary director John Glen.

In terms of locations, the case will set off from Eilean Donan Castle in the Scottish Highlands (as used in QUANTUM OF SOLACE &  THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH and helicopter over the Argyll landscape (FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE), stopping off at Stoke Park Golf Park, (GOLDFINGER) and the Eden Project (DIE ANOTHER DAY). Each location will be marked with a gold commemorative disc, acknowledging its place in Bond’s 50-year movie history. At the end of the trek, the case will then arrive at London at 10.07am on September 24th (hopefully) in a signature Aston Marton, where Ekland & Kiel will hand-deliver it to the HMV store on Oxford Street. You will be able to track the case’s progress via the official James Bond site, 007.com.
