BOOK NEWS: Joe Hill’s “The Fireman” To Be Turned Into Movie

Due for publication on 7 June 2016 Joe Hill’s new novel The Fireman has already acquired a movie deal. Fox have announced this week that they have bought the rights to the book with¬†Louis Leterrier (Clash of the Titans, Now You See Me) attached to direct. No news yet on who will star or when the movie will be released.

The Fireman is Hill’s fourth novel and is set in a near future where spontaneous human combustion is passed like a virus. It concerns pregnant nurse Harper and her quest to survive long enough to deliver her baby.

Hill’s previous work includes Heart-Shaped Box, NOS4R2 and the Bram Stoker Award nominated Horns, which was itself turned into a movie starring Daniel Radcliffe in 2013. He also wrote the Eisner Award winning comic series Locke & Key.
