Bristol Comic Expo 2012 Countdown – More Comic Launches and News!

Here we are with another Bristol Expo Countdown!

Well not long to go now and for some of you  today is your last day in the world of the norms before you take another trip into the world of geekdom and comics. Today I’ve been trying to look around twitter and elsewhere to see what people are up to and what last minure news people are trying to get out about what they are up to at the convention, so here goes.

Stacey Whittle, the editor of the fairy tale anthology into the woods  has said that copies of the comic will be available from the futurequake table or from her good self, you only need to stop her. Stace will also be part of an anthology panel being held on Sunday at 11am in Room one.

Simon Gurr will be selling copies of the brand new Scarifyers comic, which I believe is based on a radio show. I loved the tagline ‘Saving Great Britain since 1936’…oh and I think there’s free  biscuits at that table!

Lee Grice, the other member of Small Press Big Mouth will be on hand with Lamada  which is to quote Lee…
‘a double dose of SF twistiness in the tradition of Rod Serling and Philip K Dick; stories in which the mundane lives of normal folk are unexpectedly flipped inside-down and upside-out and reality, sanity and identity are as illusory, deceptive and fragile as the rainbows that writhe in oily water’
Written by Lee the comic is illustrated by Pavlos Pavlidis with colours/lettering handled by Valia ‘White Knuckle’ Kapadai.
Corey Brotherson will be selling copies of Magic of Myths:season one (loved this one…worth checking out if you’re a buffy fan).
New comic company Improper books will be making their first appearance at Bristol. They will  signing a limited run of B&W previews of BUTTERFLY GATE: BEGINNINGS and the first part of PORCELAIN: A GOTHIC FAIRY TALE. The team also  will be doing sketching and taking commissions. Bevis Musson will also be on hand launching his Dead Queen Detectives Omnibus.
Ok that’s enough for now more tomorrow. If you want another fix of what’s going to be happening at the Bristol Comic Expo the Small Press Big Mouth team have put together a great article on that front. I’ve tried not to double up on what they’ve already posted so you should get something from both posts. Check that out here.
