Bryan Singer Talks X-Men: Days of Future Past

Apocmessiahwar1The rumour mill is starting to get into full swing in relation to X-Men: Days of Future Past with a recent interview with Bryan Singer trying to avoid questions around the main baddie. Bryan Singer has been quoted recently around the upcoming film and has said the following:

The movie is about destiny. What is your fate? What were you supposed to do, what should you have done when you were younger? What didn’t you do that would have made for a better future? And what if you could go back and change that.

I think I’ve got the time travel – I don’t really want to call it time travel, but for want of a better word, time travel figured out. I pitched it to James Cameron and he signed off on it.

There has been a fair bit of buzz recently around the possibility of Apocalypse (if your unsure who he is check out his Wiki page) being in the film and it is reported that when he was asked ‘would he even consider using Apocalypse in the movies?’ he supplied a nervous answer of:

I can’t tell you…

A further question was then put to him asking if Apocalypse was in the film would the character require performance capture (like Smeagol)? Singer is described as looking even more nervous before supplying this intriguing answer:

This is how it gets started, when somebody starts piecing the little bits together…

Granted this isn’t a straight out-and-out confirmation that Apocalypse will at least make some sort of appearance in X-Men: Days of Future Past but it does give an intriguing possibility that there could be some truth in the rumours that have been coming out recently.

I don’t know about you but this is starting to get me excited and looking forward to the next X-Men movie instalment due for release in 2014. Continue the rumour mongering in the comments section below and if you think he is going to appear who do you think should play Apocalypse (if it isn’t performance capture)?

  1. Very interesting. It could be misdirection on Singer’s part, or the writers and producers may have found a logical way to bring the ancient Egyptian mutant, En Sabah Nur (better known as Apocalypse), into the Days of Future Past storyline. At least, on film. We’ll all see in 2014.

Couldn’t agree with you more – I wouldn’t put it past Singer to be putting this out there as misdirection….
I’m sure as the year goes by we’ll get more information come out about this to keep us interested.
