News of what attendees of this years Comic Con Paris can expect.

To adventurous geeks out there who fancy jumping on the Eurostar, boat or plane and checking out something abroad Comic Con’ Paris will be waiting to greet you with open arms and a nice little line up of talent. The show, which is entering it’s fourth year, will take place July 5-8 at Paris Nord Villepinte.

Every day my eyes are opened more and more to the wealth of geeks events that go on in the big wide world. Before we started doing Geek Syndicate I truly believed that geekdom was a very, very niche things with not much coverage and even fewer events to attend but the landscape has certainly changed a lot over the last five years.

This year, Ivan Reis – the creator of Aquaman – is our guest of honor for Comics and he designed the poster for the festival as well. On Artist Alley, we are also welcoming artists Tony Daniel and Jorge Molina (of Batman Detective Comic and X-Men fame respectively), Siegfried writer Alex Alice, and also Rafael Albuquerque, Mahmud Asrar, Yanick Paquette, Ian Churchill and Marco Santucci. Previously unpublished plates from the new volumes of comic books Le Scorpion and Murena is showcased in an exclusive exhibit. Dark Fantasy is also being distinguished with exhibits for Ballad of The Lost Moors,Asgard and Thorgal.

Our special guest for “video games”, Joe Madureira is presenting Darksiders II, his newest release in collaboration with THQ.

Novelist Kate Mosse is introducing the last 30 minutes of the TV adaptation for her book Labyrinth, along with director Christopher Smith and producer Moritz Polter.

TV shows fans are not being let down with the announcement of guest of honor Marc Schwahn, the man behind One Tree Hill. Part of the cast is also coming along. In addition, a Doctor Whoconference is being held with Murray Gold, the composer of all the soundtrack of the show, executive producer Caroline Skinner, screenwriter Chris Chibnall and director Toby Haynes. While we’re on the subject of  TV shows,  Tyler Posey, the main protagonist of MTV’s Teen Wolf, is there to meet visitors who are being able to attend a conference and the broadcasting of two episodes. Finally, an event is to be held around Canadian show Primeval: New World of which the 1st series is still in production.

Kevin Eastman – creator of The Teenage Ninja Turtles – is present, with a preview of the Nickelodeon animated series, alongside vice-president Richard Magallanes. Visitors are moreover able to watch episodes from several shows such as Les VisiteursDark ShadowsThe Vampire DiariesBeing Human (US) or American Horror Story. As always, exclusive showings are planned, with the preview of an unreleased documentary on Stargate and of The Captains, a documentary on Star Trek previously unreleased in France. Visitors are immersed in cult films and TV shows thanks to sets from VAlienStargateStar Wars or Ghostbusters. Comic Con’ Paris is once again offering a journey down memory lane with a French vintage science-fiction movie starring Gérard Depardieu,Le Cyborg ou le Voyage Vertical.

Comic Con’ Paris grows a little more each year, as shown with the novelties of this 4th edition. Stay tuned, for the festival has not yet unveiled all of its surprises…
