COMIC CONVENTION PREVIEW – ICE is Coming

Comic conventions in Birmingham have a special place in this old geek’s heart.  The BICS (British International Comic Show) was the second ever comic convention I attended it and also had the nefarious honour of the first convention stupid/brave/insane (take your pick) enough to allow myself and Dave to host a panel. It has been a while since I hit a con in Brum but something tells me I may be making an exception with ICE – The International Comic Convention which is being held at  at the The Studio” on Canon Street (5 minute walk from New Street Station) in the centre of Birmingham on 2nd August. The con is being run by Shane Chesbney one of the organisers of the aforementioned BICS and also the Comics Launchpad event.

The guests that are currently signed up to attend the show are as follows.

  • JORDIE BELLAIRE
  • ROLAND BOSCHI
  • JOHN PAUL BOVE
  • MIKE COLLINS
  • AL DAVISON
  • RUFUS DAYGLO
  • IAN EDGINTON
  • HUNT EMERSON
  • MARIE JAVINS
  • YISHAN LI
  • DAVID LLOYD
  • JESSICA MARTIN
  • BEN OLIVER
  • DAVID ROACH
  • STEVE RUDE
  • DECLAN SHALVEY
  • LEW STRINGER
  • BRYAN TALBOT
  • DYLAN TEAGUE
  • EMMA VIECELI
  • PHIL WINSLADE

Tickets in advance for the one day con are just £5.00. This half price advanced booking guarantees you an event program and goodie bag along with entry at 10am. A full hour before on the door entry at 11.00am. These places are limited to just 600 so book now right here to get your pass.

Shane and his team promises us a nice mix of big companies and small indie publishers I know that I’m always on the look out for new indie titles so it is good to see they well be represented at the con. There no list of what exhibitors are attending the event or what panels will be running but hopefully this will change as we get nearer to the show.

Find out more at the website for ICE. You can also follow the con preparations/announcements on Facebook and Twitter.
